Potchefstroom - Two classrooms at Potchefstroom Gimnasium have been gutted by fire, presumably as a result of lightening.
School principle, Roelof Oosthuizen, says it seems that the roof of the school was struck by lightening at around 15:00 today, setting ablaze two empty classrooms. He says there were mainly desks and books in the classrooms, and no expensive equipment.
Fire fighters are at the scene, and the flames have not been fully extinguished yet.
No one was hurt in the incident.
