Bloemfontein - Bram Fischer's daughter, Ilse Wilson, says her father would have been proud to hear that the Bloemfontein Airport has been named after him.
She spoke at the unveiling ceremony at the Bram Fischer International Airport today, saying his years-long fight for freedom in South Africa was not in vain.
Wilson and her sister, Ruth Rice, attended the ceremony despite the rainy weather where president Jacob Zuma delivered the keynote address. Wilson also spoke of what her late father would have thought of South Africa today.
Zuma is this afternoon unveiling the statue of Nelson Mandela on Naval Hill in Bloemfontein.
