The Standard Bank Business Relay 2023 – powered by OFM – takes place on Saturday, 21 October 2023, at the Cross Country Track on the University of the Free State’s Bloemfontein campus. The event will start at 07:00 and end at 12:00.

The theme of this event, Competing, Connecting, Communicating and Collaborating, focuses on bringing all business sectors together to compete against one another in a sporty and festive atmosphere.

OFM invites the business and sporting communities of Bloemfontein to join the Standard Bank Business Relay… and even challenge another business or club to some fun competitiveness on the day – while helping charity!

How? Well, October is Cancer Awareness Month and MACAH Foundation wants to buy 20 Kangaroo beds/chairs to make the oncology ward in Universitas Hospital in Bloemfontein more accessible for the children with cancer and their parents. Each Kangaroo chair/bed is R7 500. Standard Bank, the Relay Company and MACAH (Mother and Child Academic Hospital) Foundation challenge the businesses participating in the relay, as well as OFM listeners, to sponsor a bed! By helping them procure these chairs/beds, they can accommodate the parents of young cancer patients in comfort and dignity. Businesses can sponsor a bed, or they can partner with another business to sponsor a bed together. Each business that sponsors a bed in full will get a plate with their name on the bed.

A team will consist of four runners or walkers who must complete 4km each.

• Category 11:   Open men
• Category 12:   Open ladies

GOODIE BAGS:  To the value of R250+ per participant

PRIZES:  All category winning teams will receive a voucher (+- R500 per  team member). Plus, many spot prizes will be given away on the day.

Bring the whole family to watch you compete! There will be food and beverage stalls as well as a jumping castle for the kids.
