Support Engo Free State on Omgie Casual Day

Support Engo Free State on Omgie Casual Day Venue: Free State

Engo, in partnership with OFM, celebrates Engo Omgie Casual Day on Friday, 28 October 2022.

To support the amazing work Engo does with children, disadvantaged communities and those who are elderly, sick or disabled, buy a colourful Omgie sticker for R20 per adult or R10 per child at any Engo centre, house or office in the Free State.

Then make sure you dress in “Colour me crazy” for this colourful ‘civvies’ day!

Engo encourages all schools, businesses, and the public to post their beautiful photos of their colourful outfits on Facebook on Omgie Day and tag ‘Engo Free State’.

Omgie is Engo's official mascot and ambassador at schools and his dream is to show others he cares. Engo wants to cultivate this culture not only among children of all ages but also among adults, by making them aware of caring for others.

For any further inquiries, contact the Engo marketing team at 060 548 5543 or 073 566 0078 or send an email to marinique@engo.co.za.

Engo is Christian-based, non-profit and non-governmental welfare organisation operating in the Free State and providing care and counselling to children, families, the elderly, the disabled and patients in need. It is the largest charity of its kind in the Free State and second largest in the country. The first Engo service were established in 1902, which means that Engo has been in operation for 119 years. Engo does incredible work in communities across all races, cultures and ages. More than 200 000 lives are touched by Engo every year.

Engo consists of six sub-programmes, delivering services to different sectors of the community:

  • Engo Family Care

The main goal of this programme is to give much-needed social assistance to children and families. All actions are focused on the protecting and safe-guarding of children and families. There are ten Family Care offices in the Free State, while social services are rendered to communities in 17 towns.

  • Engo Adoption Services

The adoption programme aims to act in the best interest of adoptable babies and children. The end goal is to find a home and family for adoptable children.

  • Engo Child and Youth Care

This programme provides protection and care for children who were removed by the Children’s Court from their parental homes and found to be in need of care. The service is multi-racial and serves children of both genders and all ages.

  • Engo Aged Care

This programme strives to provide affordable services for the elderly to enhance their quality of life. They fight for the rights of the elderly, to prevent abuse and neglect by empowering them with knowledge and skills.

  • Engo Hospital Care

Hospital Care focuses on visiting and ministering the Word of God to patients and their families, to bring hope and encouragement.

  • Engo Care for Persons with Disabilities

Persons with disabilities often feel excluded from the community. These centres provide them with a purpose in life, and the feeling of belonging and being accepted by a group of like-minded people.
