Malema and Ndlozi’s assault hearing continues─── 12:20 Mon, 08 Mar 2021
The hearing of Julius Malema, leader of the EFF, and Mbuyiseni Ndlozi, EFF spokesperson, on charges of assault will continue in the Randburg Magistrate’s Court form 9 to 11 March 2021.
After pressure from AfriForum, Malema en Ndlozi are being prosecuted by the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) for the alleged assault of an SAPS colonel. The incident occurred in April 2018.
It is expected that the operational manager of the cemetery where the alleged assault took place, the first investigative officer and high-ranking SAPS officers will testify in the case.
The NPA eventually decided to prosecute Malema and Ndlozi after AfriForum announced in July 2019 that the organisation would be approaching the court with a mandamus application to force the NPA to decide wither or not to prosecute Malema and Ndlozi in this case.
