The All Blacks have named a new-look front-row for Saturday's Rugby Championship Test against the Springboks in Nelspruit.

Samisoni Taukei’aho has been named at hooker for the Test, while the tighthead prop, Angus Ta’avao, also earns a start.

The front-row replacements Tyrel Lomax and Ethan de Groot have been named in the squad for the first time in the 2022 international season.

In the second row Scott Barrett returns from injury and will play alongside Sam Whitelock.

In the backline, Caleb Clarke has been named on the wing for what will be his first Test since 2020.

Meanwhile, the All Blacks coach, Ian Foster, said they welcome the challenge of playing against the Springboks in South Africa first up.

“What a great way to start this year’s Rugby Championship. It’s always an exciting tournament to be part of,” Foster said.

“This year’s draw means we have a massive challenge of two games here in South Africa.

“We have settled in well in Mbombela and are preparing for what is always an intense game against our old foe.

“Many of our squad are here in South Africa for the first time. This gives us another opportunity to add new experiences and grow our game.”
