The annual North vs. South Championship will be taking place in Bloemfontein on Saturday.
The motocross event at the Tempe track lures the country's best riders to the city where they will get the rare opportunity to ride for their respective provinces.
Last year saw a record field of close to 340 riders in action, and the number for this year is going to be close.
The Free State rider and former national champion, Tyson Engelbrecht, told OFM Sport that they are delighted to have a strong women’s team this year.
“The riders have put in a lot of work for this championship. We had a training camp about a week ago and they were looking sharp and eager to represent the Free State again.
“We are quite excited to announce that for the first time in a long time we will have a loaded women's class representing the Free State again. It is awesome to see and I can't wait to see how they do. I know that they are really eager to get out on the track and prove themselves as well.
“We are looking forward to seeing everyone from Bloemfontein and the Free State over the weekend.”
The Gauteng team will head to Bloemfontein as the defending champions.
