In the #OFMArtBeat, Mid-Morning Magic’s Yolanda Maartens chats to curator, Samantha Modisenyane about Feminism Ya mang, Yethu, Yani exhibition.
The exhibition which is a collaboration between the NWU Gallery and the Goethe-Institute South Africa, is the visual exploration on how we define womanhood, sexuality, age and feminism. Key themes that come with such an engagement; and the ways in which notions on gender and queerness can redefine our understandings.
Feminism ya Mang was conceptualised by Samantha Modisenyane and Masechaba Moloi in collaboration with Danai Mupotsa, Motlatsi Khosi and Lindiwe Mngxitama. This exhibition is currently taking place till 2 September 2022 at the NWU Botanical Gardens Gallery.
