“The youth in our province are becoming frustrated and depressed.”
The ANC Youth League (ANCYL) in North West is expected to submit a memorandum of demands from young people in the province to premier Lazarus Mokgosi on Friday morning.
The march is expected to involve youth from across four districts at the Montshioa Stadium in Mahikeng, supported by the Young Communist League of South Africa in the province (YCLSA).
North West Provincial Government spokesperson, Brian Setswambung, confirmed to OFM News that premier Mokgosi will receive the memorandum.

ANCYL spokesperson Tshepo Mhlomi said the demands include that the 7th administration renew hope for the province's youth.
“The youth in our province are becoming frustrated and depressed. They are left with no choice but to find entertainment in drugs and alcohol – traits which rapidly destroy their future as well as the future of the province,” said Mhlomi.
The league demands job creation, better wages, factories to be opened for sustainable employment and unemployed graduates to be absorbed by both the public and private sector.
A skilled, educated, economically supported youth is the bedrock of a strong democracy!

The NYDA’s strategy focuses on four core areas:
- A passion for developing young entrepreneurs.
- Supporting inclusive hiring through our JOBS programme.
- Revitalising the National Youth… pic.twitter.com/AZ89S0D1VQ
According to Mhlomi, the league will be marching to deliver a document which entails the demands of the youth in the province, which includes school learners, young professionals, drugs and alcohol addicts and youth in sports, among others.
The 7th administration was sworn in two weeks ago and during his inauguration speech, premier Lazarus Mokgosi indicated the key focus will be creating employment for the youth.
