The 27-year-old was arrested in Bloemfontein on Sunday after the Hawks rescued 10 women, including a 14-year-old teenage girl, from a brothel in Nelson Mandela Drive. The Hawks spokesperson, Lynda Steyn, says the next court date for Njoku’s case is not yet known.
Meanwhile, the 27-year-old remains in custody. It is alleged he was running a brothel at a flat in Nelson Mandela Drive and the ladies who were rescued are alleged to be prostitutes who were living under his command. Steyn says 24 small packets of drugs, a journal with the amounts of money each of the ladies earned per day, condoms and pipes used to smoke drugs were found in the flat and confiscated. The women rescued are still at a place of safety while the 14-year-old teenager has been handed over to social workers.
