The embattled JB Marks municipality in the North West will have to foot the bill for an unsuccessful court action against the provincial government’s decision to put the municipality under administration.
The Northwest High Court yesterday dismissed its application to interdict and review the decision by the MEC of Cooperative Governance, Mothibedi Kegakilwe.
Municipal spokesperson, Willie Maphosa, however, tells OFM News that the ruling was not given on the merits of the case but on the urgency of it, adding the matter will still be discussed at the court later on.
He confirmed that the municipality remains under administration, and they are further reading the content of the court ruling.
