Malema who is in the province as a part of the party’s campaign trail ahead of elections on May 8 led hundreds of EFF supporters in their red regalia demanding delivery of basic services. EFF Provincial Chairperson, Mandisa Makesini, addressed the supporters, echoing their many concerns which include the existence of bucket toilets in some areas.  

“The people of Meloding in Virginia are still using the bucket system which the municipality takes 10 days to collect”, said Makesini emphatically. She also raised concerns over the existence of landfill sites in close proximity to residential areas, adding that these landfill sites are nothing more than a health hazard.

Malema is expected to conclude his visit to the goldfields on Tuesday, April 30.
