Four stabbed with sheep shears as grandfather holds relative hostage─── 09:33 Thu, 04 Aug 2022
A 64-year-old man has been arrested after he allegedly stabbed a man in the stomach with a pair of shears in Verkeerdevlei in the Free State.
Following the attempted murder, he held his 36-year-old daughter and two teenage grandchildren hostage for more than four hours.
The three victims were also stabbed with the same pair of shears, said Free State police spokesperson, Stephen Thakeng.
The man is expected to appear in the Brandfort Magistrate's Court on Thursday.
