Cape Town - Watch as Cape Town traffic officer Nizaam Alexander returns fire after being shot at, at point blank range during a routine patrol.
The incident, which was captured on the officer's vehicle's dashboard camera, shows the officer returning fire and chasing after the perpetrator.
Unable to apprehend the suspect, Alexander returns to his duties before seeking medical attention.
Alexander appears to escape the incident without major injury.
The video was uploaded to YouTube by the Western Cape Provincial Government.
