Alleged NW brothel owner back in court─── 06:52 Mon, 20 Feb 2017
Klerksdorp - A Nigerian man who allegedly owned and ran a brothel in Klerksdorp, North West, where 26 young children and women were rescued in December last year, is expected back in the local Magistrate’s Court today.
Charles Chukwukere Okopie abandoned his bail application during a previous appearance.
Hawks spokesperson, Tlangelani Rikhotso, says while Okopie declined to give reasons for his decision, he said he may apply for bail at a later stage.
Rikhotso told OFM News previously that there are new leads as to who else might have been involved with the running of the brothel. She said the women who were rescued are at a safe home and are being administered to by the Department of Social Development.
