Scuffle between EFF and ANC reps in Smithfield─── 18:12 Wed, 03 Aug 2016
Smithfield - Police in Smithfield had to defuse tension between EFF and ANC representatives at the George Rantie Community Hall after EFF members allegedly forced members of the community to cast their vote for the party.
EFF representatives are alleged to have placed their logo stickers inside elderly community members’ IDs.
According to the IEC Presiding Officer, Anene Ramodula, this caused an argument between representatives of opposing political parties.
Police at the voting station, however, managed to defuse the situation.
