Galeshewe Crime Prevention members have arrested two men in Galeshewe for the possession of drugs.

On Monday 9 May 2016, at about 11:50, members of the Crime Prevention unit were on their normal duties busy patrolling and doing stop and searches in Galeshewe when they spotted two suspicious men standing at Corless Road.

The two men allegedly ran away when they saw the police vehicle. The police chased them and found nine Mandrax tablets and two half Mandrax tablets with an estimated street value of R600 in the suspects’ possession.

The two men, aged between 30 and 22 years old,  were arrested and detained. They will appear in the Galeshewe Court soon.

In a separate incident at about 12h00,  members of crime prevention received a tip-off of dagga at a shack in Sundusa Street, Galeshewe.

They followed up the information and the alleged premise was searched. They recovered plastic bags containing 198 pokes of dagga and 11 plastics containing loose dagga weighing 1.836g. Dagga with an estimated street value of R20 000 was confiscated by the police. No suspect was arrested.
