Bloemfontein stadium’s name change concerns family─── REFILWE GAESWE 05:50 Thu, 22 Oct 2015
Bloemfontein - The Ramabodu family are reportedly concerned by the name change announcement of Seisa Ramabodu Stadium in Bloemfontein.
Reports have surfaced that the family feel proper procedures weren’t followed.
However, speaking at the opening of the stadium yesterday, Premier Ace Magashule said the Mangaung Metropolitan Municipality has a right to change the stadium's name. He said the municipality followed the rule of the law in doing so.
He says residents proposed that the stadium be renamed the Dr Molemela Stadium, after former Bloemfontein Celtic owner, Petrus Molemela. This after a public participation process was convened.
