Ousted Centlec CFO avoids jail time with suspended sentence─── LUCKY NKUYANE 13:21 Fri, 19 Aug 2022
The ousted Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the Bloemfontein-based Mangaung Metro Municipality’s power entity has avoided direct imprisonment following a judgment imposed by a Free State High Court judge.
Hlonelwa Nkomo on Thursday received a 3-month imprisonment sentence by Judge Joseph Mhlambi after he found her guilty of contempt of court.

A full order by Judge Mhlambi indicates that the sentence or period of imprisonment is wholly suspended for three years on the condition that she is not found guilty of contempt of court during this period. She was, however, ordered to pay the costs of the contempt of court application.
In court documents furnished by Centlec last month, Judge Soma Naidoo interdicted Nkomo, preventing her from mentioning details which were yet to be aired in court with regard to an application she made in June, in a matter against Centlec’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Malefane Sekoboto.
