A first for Africa at Sol Plaatje University

Kimberley - In a first for Africa, an undergraduate Bachelor of Science programme will be introduced at the Sol Plaatje University (SPU) next month.

Teaching for a total of 375 enrolled students at the University in Kimberley will commence on February 9.This includes 270 new students.
 
According to the interim head of SPU, Yunis Ballim, 80% of their students passed their first year in 2014, which means one hundred students will be returning to continue their studies in the Diamond City this year.

Registration will commence in the first week of the February, but university staff is currently at the campus attending to late applications and administration work ahead of the start of the 2015 academic year.
