Kimberley - The Sol Plaatje University (SPU) in Kimberley will next year be able to accommodate 350 students as opposed to their first years’ intake of 125 students.
According to interim vice-chancellor, Yunus Ballim, SPU received in the region of 600 applications before the closing date at the end of September, with further late applications still expected.
The Sol Plaatje University is the first institute to open its doors in South Africa since the dawn of democracy twenty years ago.
