Road forum to meet with Kuruman community today─── OWEN OWEN 08:10 Sat, 23 Aug 2014
Owen Kock Kuruman - The Joe Morolong Road Forum is to meet with the community in Kuruman today, where no schooling has taken place for two months after violent protests over the community's dissatisfaction with the condition of a road leading to school.
Spokesperson Kagisho Gaborokwe says they have met with Cosatu and the Department of Public Works to try and resolve the issue, but to no avail.
He says the same presentation public works made two years ago, in terms of sourcing money to construct the road, was made when they met earlier this week.
The Department of Public Works previously indicated that after the tender process for the construction of the road closed on 18 July, they will in one month's time announce the successful tenderer.
The have however not responded to OFM's request for information in this regard.
The minister of basic education, Angie Motshekga is expected to visit the troubled John Taolo Gaetsewe District next Wednesday.
