Bloemhof - A total of 12 houses belonging to police officers in Bloemhof, North West, have been set alight since violent protest action erupted in the area over a week ago.
North West police spokesperson, Thulani Ngubane, says in the latest incident yesterday, the houses of seven police officers were set alight and another four trucks travelling on the N12 from Christiana were attacked.
More than 130 people have been arrested since residents of Boitumelong outside Bloemhof went on the rampage over unhappiness with service delivery issues and claims of corruption and nepotism against the Mayor.
