Barkly East - The community of Barkly East in the Eastern Cape says last week's murder of Dawid and Ralie de Villiers on their farm, Broadlands, was the seventh farm murder in the area.
The murdered elderly couple's neighbour, Taubert van Zyl, says they're becoming increasingly worried about the vulnerability of farmers in the area.
Van Zyl was among a large group of farmers and residents who gathered at the town's periodical court where the murder suspect, 22-year-old Thulani Mkhentane, made his first appearance today.
He'll be back in court next Tuesday.
