The State's first witness, Marianna Smith, will be back on the stand in the Northern Cape High Court today to testify in the Griekwastad triple murder trial. A minor has pleaded not guilty to shooting dead Northern Cape farmer Deon Steenkamp, his wife Christel, and their daughter Marthella, on their farm, Naauwhoek, in April last year. Yesterday, Smith, who is Deon's sister, was cross examined by the defence’s Willem Coetzee, during which he asked her if she recently granted an interview to a well-known newspaper. Smith admitted that the interview was done last week Monday and the story published on Sunday. Mariné Jacobs is following the trial.
