Bloemfontein - The National Offender Jazz Festival will be held at Grootvlei Prison outside Bloemfontein on Friday as part of the Rehabilitation through Arts programme run by the Department of Correctional Services.
Some 200 inmates from correctional centres across the country will take part in the festival and it will be a first for the country.
Speaking in Bloemfontein ahead of the festival, the department’s chief operating officer Nontsikelelo Jolingana, today (Thursday) invited the public to attend.
Correctional services minister Sibusiso Ndebele will deliver the keynote address at 11:00 on Friday.
