Internet service provider Goldfields WiFi, in partnership with fibre network operator Evotel and civil company MTD Civils, is busy rolling out fibre in the Matjhabeng region!
The Joyride team was live from Goldfields WiFi at 348 Stateway in Welkom on Friday, 21 May.
Goldfields WiFi handed over a R10 000 prize to a lucky school in Welkom with the Fibre to Schools campaign on the day. Together with Evotel, Goldfields WiFi believes that knowledge is power and that fibre contributes to the improvement of people’s lives in the form of education, entertainment, information and peace of mind.
Formed in 2008, Goldfields WiFi started as an IT company. Focusing on the provision and installation of hardware and software as well as the installation and maintenance of servers, a need for the provision of reliable data solutions was identified. Goldfields WiFi installed their first radio equipment in 2013 after acquiring the necessary licensing from ICASA. Since then, Goldfields WiFi has built up a wide-reaching wireless internet network throughout the Lejweleputswa region and provides services to schools, businesses, churches and private homes. With the much anticipated arrival of Evotel’s fibre roll out in the Matjhabeng region, Goldfields WiFi partnered with Evotel in 2020.
