Lloyd Harris, the 21-year-old rising South African tennis star, reached his highest ever world ranking of 161 this week after winning his maiden ATP Challenger title, the Kentucky Bank Tennis Championships in Lexington, Kentucky, USA on Sunday.


Kevin Anderson remains in the world’s top 10 at No. 6 ahead of the USA hard court season which he starts this week in Toronto, Canada, where the ATP Masters 1000 Rogers Cup will be played. Anderson is seeded 4 in Toronto.

Raven Klaasen remains stable on the ATP world doubles ranking as the country’s highest ranked doubles player at 23. Last week Klaasen and his New Zealand doubles partner Michael Venus reached the semi-final of the Citi Open in Washington, USA. Klaasen and Venus will also be in action this week in Toronto where they are unseeded.

Chanel Simmonds maintains her ranking this week of 321 (singles) and 232 (doubles) as the highest ranked South African singles and doubles women player.

Zoe Kruger, aged 16, is the second highest ranked South African women singles player on the world rankings at 701. Two weeks ago Kruger was ranked as high as 697 in singles and was the youngest 15 and under WTA ranked player. On 31 July Kruger celebrated her 16th Birthday.
