Kevin Anderson has become the first South African to reach a Grand Slam semi-final since 2003.
The big serving Anderson needed four sets to knock out the USA’s SAM Querrey.
Anderson won the first set in a tie-breaker, however, Querrey rallied in to the second to level matters with a tie-breaker.
Anderson then took the third set 6-3, before the fourth set ended in the third tie-breaker of the game.
The last South African to reach the semi-finals of a Grand Slam was Wayne Ferreira, during the 2003 Australian Open.
Anderson will next face Spain's Pablo Carreno Busta, who beat Argentina's Diego Schwartzman in straight sets with a 6-4, 6-4, 6-2 win.
