The Buccaneers claimed a 1-0 win over the ever-dangerous Royal AM in an away game.

The Sea Robbers took the lead and held onto it in the 34th minute when the former Bloemfontein Celtic winger, Deon Hotto, found the back of the net.

The Pirates coach, José Riveiro, lauded his charges for their effort, especially the defence.

“Very good 60 minutes from us with plenty of positive things. It was a very professional performance here tonight,” said the Spanish coach.

“I liked our defensive work today, it was incredible. Not happy with the way we did when we recovered the ball. We should have spent more time keeping possession in the second half and not suffer so much.

“But even though we were defending a bit lower than what we want to, I don't remember any single clear chance by a very good team like Royal AM.

“Credit to our team, our coaching staff, the players, everyone because today was beautiful to see the guys fighting this way.”

Meanwhile, round four continues on Friday night with Swallows hosting AmaZulu at the Dobsonville Stadium.
