The Argentine striker, Emiliano Tade, scored a brace of goals at the King Zwelithini Stadium on Wednesday night as AmaZulu thumped Bloemfontein Celtic 3-0.

Celtic missed the chance for an early lead after Menzi Masuku was put into space and only had to beat Siyabonga Mbatha. The latter read the lob attempt well to prevent the opening goal.

Usuthu created the best chance of the 45 minutes after a first-time left-footed shot from Tade rattled the woodwork from the edge of the area.

Tade opened the scoring in the 57th minute after beating the Celtic goalkeeper, Patrick Tignyemb from a tight angle.

Tade doubled the lead with a second goal from the penalty spot 13 minutes later to complete his brace.

The final nail in the coffin came in stoppage time when the Celtic defender Lorenzo Gordinho was red-carded. The 41-year-old veteran striker, Siyabonga Nomvethe, found the back of the net from a brilliantly executed free kick from outside the box.

Back-to-back defeats have led to Phunya Sele Sele slipping down to sixth in the standings after failing to move to the top less than two weeks ago against Polokwane City.

Celtic host Highlands Park on Monday afternoon at the Dr. Petrus Molemela Stadium in Bloemfontein.

In Wednesday night’s other results, Wits and Golden Arrows played to a 2-2 draw, Maritzburg United and Black Leopards finished at 1-1 and Kaizer Chiefs beat SuperSport United 1-0.
