The defeat was Ea Lla Koto’s seventh in fourteen games during their 2018/19 PSL season. This sees them occupying the 9th place in the standings on 13 points.

The club confirmed the departure of the Belgium tactician in a statement released on Monday afternoon.

“Free State Stars Football Club and coach Luc Eymael have decided to mutually terminate their employment contract due to the fact that results of the current season have not been desirable.

“We will use the two-week break to look for a suitable replacement for the coach and will make the necessary announcement as and when things unfold.

“We want to take this opportunity to thank the coach for the success that he has brought to the club and for his effort in the current season.

We would also like to wish the coach the best of luck with his future endeavours.”

In during the 2017/18, Eymael led Ea Lla Koto to the Nedbank Cup title. Eymael has indicated that he wishes to continue working in PSL, however, there has already been some interest in his services from a club in Egypt.
