The Amakhosi target Wits scalp─── MORGAN PIEK 16:00 Tue, 07 Aug 2018
Round two of the Premier Soccer League gets underway on Tuesday evening with two games taking place.
Polokwane City will be at home this evening when they take on the defending champions, Mamelodi Sundowns.
Both sides are still looking for their first win of the campaign.
In the other game this evening, the Soweto giants, Kaizer Chiefs, face Wits, who beat Free State Stars 3-0 on Saturday.
The Amakhosi are also still hunting for a first win after playing to a goalless draw against the Brazilians, and the coach, Giovanni Solinas, says they have to use their opportunities.
“It’s a pity that when you play away and you create chances, but you don’t score”, said the Italian tactician.
“It’s important to create the chances, but it’s also very important to convert them.
“We need to improve in the finishing, because when you create four or five opportunities you need to score.
“This is want we need to work out in the training sessions, you need a specific exercise and drill focussed on finishing.”
Solinas also urged to the fans for a little patience with the team, and believes that within no time the Glamour Boys will be on track as serious title contenders.
“I know that the fans want to a trophy, but we need time.
“We need more training sessions to correct what needs to be corrected and to understand the philosophy.
“So far I am happy with the reaction of the boys. In the training sessions it reaction of the players is unbelievable and very positive.”
Both Tuesday evening’s games get underway at 19:30.
