The Free State Stars coach, Luc Eymael, has slammed the Premier Soccer League's congested fixtures heading into the festive break.

On Sunday Ea Lla Koto was hammered 3-0 by Bloemfontein Celtic in the big Free State derby.

This week the side from Qwaqwa will face SuperSport United and Orlando Pirates before getting some time off.

Eymael said playing three league games in the space of six days is unheard of. "That's not human. That's the first thing I want to say.

We're playing three games in six days. I've never seen that, and I have seen a lot of things in my career.

"But, okay, we'll just have to deal with it. It's the fixtures. I don't know if I have to retain my team, I don't have all the solutions like the super big team in the country. I might have to spare half of my players, because it's very dangerous to play three games in six days."

Eymael furthermore apologised for the team's showing during the derby. According to him the players have let numerous opportunities slip, which could have seen them within in the top five of the league.

"I'm very disappointed. I want to apologise to all the fans of the Free State Stars on behalf of my players for this absolutely poor performance. It's the worst thing I have seen until now. You cannot work like this in training and deliver like that in match day. As staff we work hard, doing all the homework, analysis, giving them all the information, but the result is very disappointing."

Stars will face SuperSport on Wednesday evening and the Buccaneers on Saturday, with both these games being played at Goble Park.
