Bloemfontein Celtic will look to put their Telkom Knockout defeat behind them with the team facing a Premier Soccer League doubleheader this week.

On Saturday, Maliele Pule scored a goal on the stroke of full time at the Princess Magogo stadium to hand Wits the 2017 title with a 1-0 win.

The Celtic coach, Veselin Jelušic, simply said they will use the defeat as motivation to work harder.

“The match didn't have too many chances but unfortunately for us they scored two minutes before the end of the game. They won, so congratulations to Wits.

“It's proof of the quality of our team. We are not going to stop here, we'll use it as motivation to continue to work and achieve better results in the future," he added.

“It is part of the game, we lost concentration in the latter part of the game.

“There is no difference to score in the first minute of the game and the last minute of the game. We competed and gave our best but we lost, so again congratulations to Wits."

The Serbian mentor added that he was disappointed in the results but not in his players.

“Of course we are a little bit disappointed with the result, but I’m not disappointed with the commitment of our players.

“They tried to play their best in a game that was aimed at a result.”

On Wednesday evening Celtic are away to AmaZulu at the King Zwelithini Stadium, kick-off for this game is at 19:30.

On Sunday it is the eagerly anticipated provincial derby against Free State Stars at the Dr Petrus Molemela Stadium. The game between Phunya Sele Sele and Ea Lla Koto kicks off at 15:30. The following week Celtic travel to the capital city to face Pitso Mosimane’s Mamelodi Sundowns.
