There is no pressure on Bloemfontein Celtic heading into Sunday’s Telkom Knockout Cup semi-final against Polokwane City.

Phunya Sele Sele are confident heading into the last four match in Limpopo, however, they do expect nothing less than a tough outing against the physical Rise and Shine.

Celtic dispatched SuperSport United and Platinum Stars on their road to the semi-finals.

Polokwane also have their tails up after knocking out Ajax Cape Town and Orlando Pirates with penalty shootout wins.

This will be the first ever meeting between Polokwane City and Bloemfontein Celtic in the competition, or any cup tournament for that matter.

Celtic have enjoyed the better of the league meetings in the past. Of the nine games played, they have won five to City’s two, with two matches drawn. Celtic have outscored their opponents 16-12.

The Celtic coach, Veselin Jelušic, told OFM Sport that there is no pressure on the team.

“It’s important to play all the games at the same pace, but off course it depends on what is happening during the game.

“We don’t have any pressure.

“Our aim is to do the best that we can do in the moment and we are going to compete.”

The team’s assistant coach and former captain, Lehlohonolo Seema, added that they will have to be mentally tuned in on Sunday.

“We have to mentally and physically tough, even spiritually or any other thing that can help during the game.

“We want this more than them, it’s been a long time since we’ve got any silverware.

“The big thing for us was to put the season that we had last season behind us in order to make our supporters happy.”

On Saturday Wits host Kaizer Chiefs in the first semi-final (15:30), while Polokwane and Celtic lock horns on Sunday afternoon at 15:30.
