Duo arrested for drug peddling in NC─── LUCKY NKUYANE 11:25 Sat, 28 Mar 2020
Police in the Northern Cape arrested two suspects after confiscating more than 400 Mandrax tablets.
Police spokesperson, Dimakatso Mooi, says the duo was arrested during a Vehicle Check Point (VCP) on the N10 road to Britstown. She says 449 Mandrax tablets worth R39 920 were found in their possession.
Mooi further explains that upon searching the vehicle, police found the tablets packed in small plastic bags.
The suspects, aged 39 and 41, are expected to appear in court soon.
Mooi says members from De Aar Public Order Police, Vispol, K9 and the Emthanjeni Municipal Traffic Department conducted a VCP on the N10 road to Britstown on Friday, 27 March 2020.
Mooi adds that the police investigation into the matter continues.
