A 26-man Springbok alignment camp started in Pretoria on Monday ahead of the shortened Rugby Championship which kicks off next month.

Players from the Sharks and Bulls will join the squad next week.

The coach Rassie Erasmus has included nine overseas players of players such as Cobus Reinach, Frans Steyn and Marcell Coetzee are the most notable inclusions.

Reinach, who has been on fire in England for the Northampton Saints recently told OFM Sport that he will do anything to don the green-and-gold again.

“When I signed with the Saints I ensured that I will also be available for Springbok selection. Other than that, who is available and who is not available does not really matter to me.

“My focus has always been to be the best that I can be, and if that is good enough, I am ready.

“During my time that I have played for the Springboks I really learned a lot, and since I have been here in Northampton I have also learned a lot.

“The time that I have been here, has really given me the confidence to play in the conditions that we experience here.

“I will do whatever I can to play for the Boks again. I am desperate to play to wear the number nine jersey this year and in the World Cup. I'm really hoping that my time in Europe will help me achieve that.”

The Springboks kick off their Rugby Championship campaign against the Wallabies at Loftus Versfeld on 20 July.
