The Tafel Larger Griquas will face undoubtedly their biggest challenge in the SuperSport Rugby Challenge on Saturday when they host the Blue Bulls in Kimberley.

The Peacock Blue currently top the standings in the North Section with three wins from three, while the Bulls in their turn were beaten 29-21 by the Pumas in the first game of the tournament.

The coach, Brent Janse van Rensburg, has rung the changes after his side thumped the Welwitschias last 61-24 in Windhoek.

Upfront only Khwezi Mona retains his place in the starting XV, but he moves to loosehead prop, while in the backline, Anthonie Volmink and Andre Swarts, were the only starters from last week.

“It’s been a great start to the season, the guys are looking very sharp and the camp is very positive, especially after the three wins to date.

“Everybody is very excited about Saturday. We’ve had a good week of prep, but the game against the Bulls will be the first real challenge, and then we will know where we stand. I do think that it will be a good game for us.

“The goal is to focus on our processes and coach Brent always talks about being a better team than the one the previous week.

“All week trying to achieve every week is to be a better team. Especially after the second half last week we want to improve in the first half to make sure it’s a better second forty.

“We are stuff going to focus on that we need to, control what we can control and hopefully it will be a good day for us on Saturday.”

The match in Kimberley will be officiated by Egon Seconds who has copped quite a lot of criticism for his officiating in the Super Rugby this season.

Kick-off at Tafel Lager Park is at 14:30. At the same time, the Toyota Free State XV tackle the SWD Eagles at the Clive Solomon Stadium in Heidedal. On Sunday at 12:30 the Griffons tackle the Welwitchieas at the Impala Rugby Club in Rustenburg, and at 14:30 the Leopards entertain the Valke.
