No Koen for the Cheeaths─── MORGAN PIEK 16:23 Tue, 16 Oct 2018
The Toyota Cheetahs resumed training on Tuesday morning ahead of next weeks’ Guinness Pro14 clash against the Cardiff Blues in Bloemfontein.
The Cheetahs have enjoyed some time away from the game due to the other European competitions that are currently underway.
On Monday, it was reported that the Cheetahs will be boosted with several new faces, and these may include the Tafel Lager Griquas duo of Sias Koen and Sintu Manjezi, as well as Tapiwe Mafura of the Leopards and Rhyno Smith from the Sharks.
OFM Sport can confirmed that as it stands the strong loose-forward, Koen, will not be reporting for due at this time.
Koen indicated that he is interested in playing Pro14 rugby for the Cheetahs, but at this point in time, he will not be swopping Kimberley for Bloemfontein.
A possible move to the Cheetahs has not been ruled out for the future.
Over the weekend Koen was the big winner in Kimberley after being named as the Griquas Player of the Season, and the Players' Player of the Season.
The Cheetahs tackle Cardiff next week Saturday at the Toyota Stadium in Bloemfontein, and this game will kick-off at 19:35.
