The Tafel Lager Griquas have named their side for Saturday’s Currie Cup clash against the Sharks in Kimberley.

For the Griquas, it will be one last roll of the dice in the 2018 edition of the worlds oldest domestic competition, while for the Sharks, there is an opportunity to top the standings.

This is provided that the Blue Bulls can beat the high flying Western Province at Loftus Versfeld, and in doing so preventing the team from Cape Town from getting a bonus point.

In want is Peter Engeldow’s last squad before moving on to Paarl Boys’ High School, he has made a few changes to counter what is expected to be a physical onslaught from the Sharks.

Wendal Wehr earns a start at flank, while the Cheetahs bound Sintu Manjezi will be starting in the second-row.

Ewald van der Westhuizen and Devon Martinus will be the starting props for the match.

Engeldow has opted to name an unchanged backline for the match.

Earlier Engeldow told OFM Sport that while he and a few players will be representing the Griquas for the last time, there is still a job to be done.

“We are focusing on what we need to get right against the Sharks, and we hope that will struggle in Kimberley heat, and that we can put in a good performance for our fans and finish on a high.”

“It is important for the players who are staying to make an impression on Brent, who is the new coach. At the same time, it’s been great having him here this week and being involved and helping us with our prep for the Sharks.
