The Springbok coach, Rassie Erasmus, has named his side for Saturday’s Rugby Championship Test against Argentina in Durban.

Erasmus opted to play Siya Kolisi, Warren Whiteley, and Francois Louw in the back-row this week, while Malcolm Marx returns at hooker.

Among the backs, Handré Polland cracked the nod at flyhalf, while there is no place for Elton Jantjies in the team. Damien Willemse is set for his debut if he comes off the bench and can cover both flyhalf and at fullback.

The winger, Makazole Mapimpi, is set for his second Test cap after be made his debut in Washington DC. During the one off Test in the USA he also scored his first try in the green-and-gold.

The Bulls loose-forward, Marco van Staden, will also make his debut from the bench.

Erasmus said the competition in the squad is healthy and made the team selection that much trickier.

“Our forward depth is very good indeed and the competition for places in the team is healthy, which can only be a good thing for us as we continue to build the depth of our squad.”

“Their new coach comes with a lot of technical knowledge and experience from his previous coaching roles which is sure to add more firepower to their traditional strengths,” Erasmus added

“They will be very confident as a result of the Jaguares’ great run on tour in Australasia, where they won all four their matches on the road, as well as their winning performances against our own franchises.”

Saturday’s Test at Kings’ Park kicks off at 17:05.
