After eighty-nine years of calling it home, Leopards Rugby have decided to bid farewell to Olën Park.

The announcement was made by Union CEO, Andries de Kock, who added that the team will look to make the Fanie du Toit stadium at the North West University their new home ground.

According to De Kock, the move has been forced by financial and maintenance issues that have plagued the Potchefstroom-based side for some time.

While the move is still in its negotiation phase, the Leopards meanwhile get their SuperSport Rugby Challenge campaign underway tomorrow with a  first-round derby against the Griffons.

Leopards Coach, Jonathan Mokuena, will be looking to set the record straight after going down to the Welkom-based side in the final of the Currie Cup 1st Division last year.

This match gets underway at 15:00 tomorrow afternoon and will be played on the fields of Schweizer-Reneke High School.
