The Currie Cup 1st division final will be a personal affair - Engelbrecht─── ADRIAN BOTHA 09:08 Fri, 20 Oct 2017
The Griffons expect today’s Currie Cup 1st Division Final against the Leopards to be a personal affair considering these sides recent knockout stages history.
In 2016’s final, the Leopards were beaten 44-25 in their own back yard by the Griffons who in their turn head into today's final having lost only one game the entire season.
Griffons centre, Joubert Engelbrecht told OFM sport that it is always great to have a home final but they expect the Leopards to come out with vengeance considering the sides recent history.
"Its nice to have a home final and it is important but at the end of the day, a home final is not going to win you the game, we still have to go out and do the work", Joubert said.
The Leopards will want to set the record straight and reclaim the title and Engelbrecht says, "Whenever the Griffons and the Leopards play against one another it is a personal affair, and more so with today's final considering they have a point to prove."
