Potchefstroom Academy and SAAHST, in partnership with OFM, is giving one creative young person the opportunity to kick start their studies in 2022. Up for grabs is a year’s tuition for any one of these five full-time courses offered at Potchefstroom Academy and SAASHT: somatology, cosmetology, hairdressing, interior design or photography. Prospective hair stylists, beauticians, interior designers and photographers now have the opportunity to acquire not only the skills to ply their trade, but also to open their own business. OFM Content Manager Elzette Boucher Krüger explains that this competition aims to give budding entrepreneurs the credentials to set them on a path to establish their own business: “There are so many talented and skilled young people, who just need that little bit of assistance and guidance to become a qualified professional. Also, after OFM celebrated 35 years of broadcasting in 2021, where the focus was on the radio station, we decided that in 2022 the focus should shift squarely to our listeners. Next year is going to be all about them and what we can do to make things better; aside from providing information, entertainment and smiles to their day.”

Verander 2022 in “Twenty-20-You!”

Potchefstroom Akademie en SAAHST, in vennootskap met OFM, gaan aan een kreatiewe jong persoon die geleentheid gee om hul studies in 2022 te begin. Op die spel is 'n jaar se klasgled vir enige een van hierdie vyf voltydse kursusse wat by Potchefstroom Akademie en SAASHT aangebied word: somatologie, skoonheidskunde, haarkappery, interieurontwerp of fotografie.

Voornemende haarstiliste, skoonheidskundiges, interieurontwerpers en fotograwe het nou die geleentheid om nie net die vaardighede aan te leer om hul ambag te beoefen nie, maar ook om hul eie besigheid te open. OFM-inhoudbestuurder Elzette Boucher Krüger verduidelik dat hierdie kompetisie daarop gemik is om ontluikende entrepreneurs die kwalifikasie te gee om hulle toe te rus om hul eie besigheid te vestig: “Daar is soveel talentvolle en knap jongmense wat net daardie bietjie bystand en leiding nodig het om 'n gekwalifiseerde professionele persoon te word. Ook, nadat OFM in 2021 35 jaar in die uitsendingsbedryf gevier het, waar die fokus op die radiostasie was, het ons besluit dat die fokus in 2022 vierkantig na ons luisteraars moet verskuif. Volgende jaar gaan alles oor hulle handel en wat ons kan doen om dinge beter te maak; behalwe om natuurlik inligting, vermaak en glimlagte aan hul dag te verskaf.”

Anine Wallace, HUB van Potchefstroom Akademie en SAAHST, sê: “Ons is nie net bevoorreg om ons 40ste jaar van kwaliteit onderwys te vier nie, maar ook opgewonde om met OFM saam te werk op hierdie spesiale reis om een gelukkige luisteraar die geleentheid te gee om die eerste stap te neem na ‘n kreatiewe en entrepreneuriese toekoms.”
