Tete retains bantamweight title─── ADRIAN BOTHA 10:10 Mon, 23 Apr 2018
After going toe to toe with Argentine Omar Andres Narvaez in a boxing match that went the 12-round distance, South African Zolani Tete retained his World Boxing Organisation bantamweight title in Belfast.
Tete stepped into the ring over the weekend in an attempt to defend his bantamweight title for the second time after beating fellow South African Siboniso Gonya by knockout in November last year.
The East London born fighter hardly broke a sweat against Narvaez, who seemed to have no answer to the South African's dominance which reflected in the judge's scorecard that unanimously awarded victory to "The Last Born" with a 120-108 score.
The victory takes Tete to a record of 30 fights with 27 wins and 21 of those by way of knockout.
