Change of constitution condemns SA, says agri union─── CHRISTAL-LIZE MULLER 12:19 Tue, 07 Aug 2018
South Africa will have no future if the ANC continues with its plan to change Article 25 of the Constitution which will allow the expropriation of land without compensation.
This is according to General Manager of Transvaal Agricultural Union, Bennie van Zyl, who says the success of the country lies in its economic growth, building the economy and creating jobs. He says the ANC, on the other hand, is doing the opposite.
This comes after President Cyril Ramaphosa announced last week a two-day Lekgotla of the ANC's National Executive Committee (NEC) resolved to go ahead with the amendment of the Constitution, allowing land expropriation without compensation. Following that, City Press reported the ANC has targeted 139 selected farms which they plan to expropriate without compensation in the coming weeks. This to test out Section 25 of the Constitution. Van Zyl says the move is of great concern to the agricultural industry.
