SA heats up, high fire dangers persist in NC | News Article

Most of SA is expected to heat up on Friday as temperatures rise, while residents of the Northern Cape have been warned of high fire danger conditions.


Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected in the West Coast District of the Western Cape as well as the western and north-western parts of the Northern Cape. 

Isolated showers and thundershowers are expected in Mpumalanga along the escarpment. The rest of the country remains dry.

Minimum temperatures are expected to be cool in parts of the north and the central interior, including in Gauteng, the Free State, and parts of the Eastern Cape.

Moderate to warm conditions can be expected in the rest of the country, with hot conditions in Limpopo.

Sutherland in the Northern Cape is expected to be one of the coldest places, dropping to 2°C.

Maximum temperatures are expected to be warm along the southern coastline, but temperatures are predicted to rise in the rest of the country. Some parts of the Western Cape and Northern Cape are expected to be hot.

Upington in the Northern Cape is expected to be one of the hottest places, with an expected maximum temperature of 34°C.

In Gauteng, Pretoria will reach a high of 28°C while Johannesburg will reach a high of 26°C.

Bloemfontein will reach a high of 29°C.

Along the coast, Cape Town will reach a high of 31°C, while Port Elizabeth is expected to reach a high of 24°C, and Durban a high of 23°C.
