The North West police are still in hot pursuit of a group of suspected robbers following a farm attack in Koster in the North West last week Thursday.

Police spokesperson, Adele Myburgh, tells OFM News that a farmer and his wife, along with their worker, were assaulted by the suspects during the robbery.

She says the suspects critically injured and tied up the farmer and his wife before they ransacked the house. They were taken to the local hospital after the attack.

Myburgh says the police managed to find the suspects’ silver Isuzu bakkie after they abandoned it in Boitikong near Rustenburg

“The 82-year-old farmer and his 78-year-old wife were in bed when the suspects entered through the window that was close to their room. The suspects overpowered the couple, assaulted them and ransacked the house,” says Myburgh.

Myburgh says the 82-year-old Jan and 78-year-old Suzie Scheepers were assaulted and robbed in their farmhouse in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Myburgh says the police are investigating a complaint of robbery.

She says she can’t comment about the couple’s condition in hospital.

Myburgh says the elderly couple managed to untie themselves and alert their neighbours, who then called the police to the scene.
