Cosatu disappointed with NW PTT | News Article

The newly established Provincial Task Team (PTT) to the North West should include people with integrity.

This is according to the Congress of South African Trade Unions’ (COSATU) provincial spokesperson, Job Dliso. Dliso says as part of the Tripartite Alliance, they are disappointed with the announcement of the PTT that shows no alliance factor. He says not even a single member of the tripartite alliance has been included. Last night ANC National Spokesperson, Ace Magashule, announced a thirty-two member task team which will lead the African National Congress (ANC) in the North West Province. Dliso adds that they will not be silent and tackle issues that affect the tripartite alliance.

“It is the responsibility of the ANC to ensure that they include people who are equal to the task. Ours is to not to keep quiet. We are going to make sure that we raise issues. Workers and us want to see the community of the North West being serviced because we want services delivery. The only concern though is the composition, which excluded alliance components,” says Dliso.

Dliso says they will, however, support the newly announced PTT.

He says fears that the inclusion of some of the members from the dissolved Provincial Executive Committee (PEC) might compromise the party’s objective of unity, are baseless.

The PEC was disbanded last month.

Some of the former members of the disbanded PEC, who are part of the PTT, include Wendy Nelson, Sello Lehari and former premier Supra Mahumapelo.

He says they will not be against any leader of the ANC to be included in the PTT, only if those leaders respond to the call of the people in the province.

He says they must ensure that the people of the North West receive quality service delivery.
